Research Project - CD Practitioners' Support Needs.
 
Communities Scotland are funding SCDN to carry out this piece of research, which ties in with their Development Plan for Community Capacity Building.

Publication - 'Clarity for a Change: Key Terms and Ideas in Community Development Jargon'.
 
This publication has been funded by Learning Connections, part of Communities Scotland, and will be published in August 2007.

Event - Major Conference
 
Collaboration with CLDMS on 3 day Conference on Community development. See Events page for more details.

Event - AGM 2007
 
This year we have decide to hold our AGM separately from our other events. It will take place on March 29th 2007 in Glasgow.

Newsletter - Issue 4
 
We are currently finlaising the 4th issue of our Newsletter, for publication in Spring 2007.

Manifesto
 
SCDN has produced a Manifesto, or Vision Statement, for Community Development Manifesto in Scotland.
 
The Manifesto was launched in the run up to the 2007 Scottish Parliamentary Elections, with candidates from three parties present, and participating in a discussion and question and answer section.

Contribution to Policy Formation
 
SCDN contributes to the development of national policies, through submissions to consultations and participation on working groups. 
 
Recently, we submitted responses to the Youth Work Strategy Consultation, and the Planning White Paper.


Involvement with other networks

SCDN and it’s committee members now

participate in a number of other networks:

(CDAS): network of networks interested in CD

 

·         Community Development Exchange

(CDX): UK wide Network for CD Practitioners

 

·         Community Learning and Development

Managers Scotland

(CLDMS, previously CEMS): network for Managers of Local Authority ‘CLD’ services

 

·         Partners in Regeneration

 

·         Scottish Urban Regeneration Forum (SURF) Community Leadership Panel
